Today was kinda awesome. I went to Milwaukee for work, landed some new business, had a great banh mi at this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , camped out at a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! with a matcha green tea almond milk latte, got a new pair of sneakers at the Nike outlet, had a good workout, and finished the day with this meal. Oh yeah.
The sneakers I got were these !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for 37 bucks, score!
My post-workout meal was rainbow trout, quinoa salad, asparagus, and my tuscan white beans with roasted marinara sauce that are ahhhmazing . The quinoa salad is from the Costco deli but hey, it’s pretty damn good, and purty looking.
I’m a happy meathead right now.

Is that blackened trout? Mmmm ....

I guess you could call it blackened? I seasoned it with salt, pepper, garlic powder, coriander, paprika & Old Bay. Give it a nice long sear on the skin side then flip it for a little bit to finish the top side off.

Have you ever had pecan crusted trout?
It’s pretty much the only way to eat trout.

I think maybe at a restaurant I’ve had some kind of pecan crusted fish. That’s a good idea for me to make next time I do trout, especially since I love pecans and pretty much always have some in my pantry.

I had a rabbit bahn mi last week. Good, but didn’t hit the spot like the real thing.

Last week in Japan at ryokan in Tokyo had raw trout as one of the dishes. Delicious. Although one of the ingredients in another appetizer was Jew’s Ear ... I made a few lame jokes, but let it go. My bar mitzvah was a long time ago.

I had sous vide smoked salmon at a company function a couple months ago. That might have been the 2nd most baller fish I’ve ever had. 1st was from a chip shop on the coast of Scotland after 6 but before 12 miles of hiking. Crunchy fried unknown fish variety with curry sauce. Mhmmmmmmm.

Oh yeah, the Rabbit was never quite the car the Golf was ... but “didn’t hit the spot”? Please - the car was a great dish served ... wait, what?
